The Dutch Minister for Development Cooperation Agnes van Ardenne-van der Hoeven will visit Indonesia from Oct. 8 to 12, 2006, in connection with Aceh reconstruction projects, the Dutch Embassy said in Jakarta.
""The main purpose of her visit is to monitor progress in the implementation of the reconstruction activities in post-tsunami Aceh,"" Dutch Embassy's new spokeswoman Gonneke de Ridder said in a press release sent to The Jakarta Post on Friday.
Van Ardenne will arrive in Banda Aceh on Sunday, Gonneke said.
During her five-day stay in Indonesia, Van Ardenne will visit Aceh, Central Kalimantan and Jakarta.
In Aceh, the minister will attend the official opening of the Malahayati Harbor on Monday, a bilateral project financed by the Dutch government and a consortium of Dutch companies. She will also visit a number of other Dutch reconstruction projects in Aceh.
In Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, Van Ardenne will visit a peatland forest project and reforestation projects.
In Jakarta the minister will sign a memorandum of understanding Wednesday on public finance management and government financial management. She is also scheduled to meet the ministers of finance, trade, foreign affairs and education.
Indonesia, Gonneke said, is a major partner country in the Dutch Development cooperation program. The Netherlands has contributed $100 million to the Multi Donor Fund for the reconstruction of Aceh.
