I strongly disagree with David Wallis's letter of Nov. 18. The only reason the Americans and their puppets (the British and Australians and the rest of the so-called Coalition) invaded Iraq was oil, oil, oil.
Is Wallis naive enough to believe for even a second that Bush would apologize for terrorizing not only the Muslim world but the whole world? I agree that Indonesia needs friends, but it would be wise to choose them carefully.
Would Wallis choose a friend who persistently lies to him, as Bush and his lapdog Blair did? Did they ever find those Weapons of Mass Destruction they claimed, against their better knowledge, that Iraq was stockpiling?
Bush got what he deserved at the midterm elections, but the rest of the world will suffer for decades for his stubborn policies. As a democrat I also say: Let him come to Indonesia and be happy that he will only stay for ten hours.
