IBL rookies start intensive training

JAKARTA: Twenty-six selected basketball rookies started five days of intensive training Wednesday in Pertamina Sports Hall in Simpruk, South Jakarta, before playing in the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) next year.
The training will be handled by coach Jaki Hatta of STIE Perbanas, a team from the Indonesian Student Basketball League.
The rookies will be given fundamental basketball training such as dribbling, defense and offense, games, and tests of endurance, speed, agility, power and strength.
Among the rookies are Ismael, 23, Vavories Palopo, 22, Jodi Sofyan Rochman, 23, Syarif M. Yusuf, 22, and Dirk Mathew Mario, 19.
""We hope this training will improve the rookies ability particularly to play in the IBL,"" Jaki said. -- JP
