France appoints new envoy to RI

INDONESIA: The French government has appointed an experienced female diplomat as its new ambassador to Indonesia, the French Embassy said Tuesday in Jakarta.

""Ambassador-designate Catherine Boivineau has already arrived in Jakarta. She will submit her credentials to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono very soon,"" the embassy said in a press release sent to The Jakarta Post.

Ambassador Boivineau, an adept career diplomat, joined the foreign service in 1969. Prior to coming to Jakarta, she was working at the French Foreign Ministry in Paris. Before that she was French ambassador to Madagascar from 2002 to 2005. -- JP
