Irene upset at chess event

JAKARTA: Woman International Master Irene Kharisma Sukandar of Indonesia (elo rating 2220) lost to Vietnam's Ton Nu Hong An, who does not have an elo rating, in the seventh round of the qualification round for the World Championship Zonal 3.3 Asia in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, on Tuesday.
Indonesian Chess Association spokesman Kristianus Liem said Irene conceded in the 45th move.
With Tuesday's loss, Irene now has 3.5 points at the event. -- JP
