MALANG, East Java: Japan's Kawasaki FC officials Kuno Tumoaki and Mukojiwo Tatsuru will observe Arema of Malang's match against arch-rival Persebaya of Surabaya during the Indonesian League on Tuesday.

Arema spokesman M. Taufan said Monday that the two officials wanted not only to observe Arema's strength ahead of their clash at the Asian Champions League here in March, but also to see the Arema fans known as Aremania, who won best supporter awards at the Indonesian League in 2005 and 2006.

Tuesday's match will take place under heavy security following last season's violent clash between the clubs during the Copa Indonesia semifinal match, which caused Rp 1.2 billion (US$133,000) in financial losses and injured a dozen spectators. -- JP
