JAKARTA: The Attorney General's Office is gathering evidence that may implicate Chairman of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) Widjanarko Puspoyo, a suspect in a 2001 beef import corruption case, in another graft case.

""We have held an investigation into another alleged corruption case. We've been questioning a number of people regarding the case,"" Director for Investigation at the Office of Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, M. Salim, said as quoted by detik.com news portal.

""But, don't ask about its progress now ... Please wait until next week,"" he added.

Salim declined to say whether the case involved illegal transfers of money into the accounts of Bulog officials.

He only said that the new case was not an extension of the beef import graft case. Three former suspects have already been convicted in that case. They were executives of two Bulog partners in the 2001 beef import from Australia. -- JP
