Atmajaya Catholic University will for the first time send a team to contest the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, the U.S., at the end of this month.
The university ensured its participation after winning first place in the national qualification contest in Jakarta last month, during which teams from 18 private- and state-run universities took part.
The Atmajaya team also won second place for its excellent defense plea.
The Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court is a prestigious competition. The winner and runner-up in a national contest are eligible for this competition.
For the Atmajaya team, its participation in this year's national qualification is its fourth. During its first participation in 2004, the team ranked among the best four of seven participating universities.
A year later, it ranked seventh of 10. -- JP
