JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is expected to attend the World Islamic Economic Forum, a summit for members of the Organization for Islamic Council covering economic issues, on May 28-29.

Presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal told Antara news agency that Yudhoyono agreed to attend the summit in Kuala Lumpur after receiving an invitation from chairman of the World Islamic Forum, Dato Tun Musa Hitam, on Thursday.

In the meeting, Musa expected Yudhoyono to share the experience of development in Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim democracy.

A number of leaders from other Muslim countries, such as Pakistan, Kuwait and Senegal, are also expected to take part in the summit. -- JP
