BOGOR: A security guard made a grisly discovery Saturday morning, finding a man's torso stuffed in a bag on the bank of the Baru River in Bogor.
The guard, Iskandar, first became suspicious when he noticed a putrid odor coming from the riverbank, near the factory of textile company PT Ever Shinetex.
Investigating, he discovered the torso of a man.
""I was curious about the horrible smell, so I went to find its source. I got to the edge of the Baru River and found a white sack, with the mutilated body inside.""
Iskandar immediately contacted the nearby Sukaraja Police station.
Police had the torso transferred to PMI Hospital for autopsy.
Officers combed both banks of the river looking for more body parts. However, the search failed to turn up anything.
Head of the general crimes unit at the Bogor Police, Adj. Comr. Arief Rachman, said officers would continue searching the riverbanks to try and turn up some clue to help identify the victim. --JP
