Major conference on cement to be held here

JAKARTA: Industry Minister Fahmi Idris is scheduled to officially open an international conference on the cement market, trade, distribution and industry development throughout Asia and the Pacific in Jakarta next week.
Intercem Asia, the event organizer, said the conference, which will be held in the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta on June 13 and 14, would discuss important issues affecting the regional cement industry, with an up-to-date review of current trading conditions and prospects for the future.
Other topics to be discussed during the two-day conference would be the outlook for the Indonesian economy, and the prospects of the Indonesian cement and construction industries, Intercem Asia said. (JP)
