Two suspects named in Asabri fraud case

JAKARTA: The Attorney General's Office (AGO) named Tuesday two individuals suspected of alleged fraud at the Indonesian Military's insurance company PT Asabri.

""The suspects are identified by their initials HL and SM. One is from PT Asabri and the other from a private institution,"" said M. Salim, the AGO's investigation director.

Salim said further investigation into the case began last month. ""As of Monday, two suspects have been named for their alleged involvement in a fraud case that has caused tens of billions of rupiah in losses to the state as reported by the public.""

Asked about the exact amount of the inflicted state losses, Salim said the Development Finance Comptroller is still calculating the amount. -- JP
