Two Indonesian students have been selected to participate in an annual gathering of the world's most talented young scientists and 20 Nobel prizewinners in medicine.

The two students, Yohanes Kristianto and Kartika Pangestu, are from the Swiss German University (SGU) in Bumi Serpong Damai, Banten province.

Both Yohanes and Kartika study at the SGU School of Life Sciences and are now undergoing an apprenticeship program in Germany, according to a release from SGU.

This is a unique opportunity for selected students all over the world to listen to and discuss their subject with world leaders in their field of study.

The meeting could well inspire them to become future Nobel laureates.

The event will take place July 1 through 6.

At the meeting, participants will discuss current scientific issues during the course of lectures, seminar discussions and numerous direct encounters.

The annual gathering takes place at Lake Constance, Germany.

The laureates will give presentations on topics of their choice. Some round-table discussions and plenary sessions will fully involve the audience.

The students will be divided into groups and each will have a chance to meet with a laureate for several hours in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, scheduled social events will provide the opportunity for the young scientists to meet the Nobel prizewinners in a more informal setting.
