Four terrorist suspects who were previously detained in Yogyakarta arrived at the National Police Mobile Brigade headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, on Friday afternoon.
They were flown to Jakarta in the National Police airplane from Adi Sucipto Airport in Yogyakarta under the guard of the police's Special Detachment 88 unit.
The four suspects were Arif Syaifudin, who was caught in Surabaya; Aris Widodo, caught in Karanganyar, Central Java; and Aziz Mustofa and Nur Afifudin, both of whom were arrested in Ngaglik, Sleman, Yogyakarta, in a series of raids on June 10 and 11.
They were among seven terrorist suspects believed to be aides of Abu Dujana, the alleged military wing chief of Jamaah Islamiyah. Possible JI overall leader Zarkasih was also arrested along with Dujana on June 9.
""The four suspects will be put together with other terrorist suspects who were already detained here,"" deputy chief of operations of the Mobile Brigade Brig. Gen. Sukimo said, as quoted by Antara news agency, although he declined to give further comment.
The head of the Muslim Defender Team (TPM) for Southeast Sulawesi area, Ashludin Hatjani, said in Yogyakarta that Dujana and Zarkasih were still being detained there because the questioning process had not finished.
""Nobody knows until when they will be arrested in Yogyakarta,"" said Ashludin.
Dujana is wanted in connection with several bomb attacks, while Zarkasih is alleged to be in charge of all JI operations and activities in Indonesia.
National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Sisno Adiwinoto said that Dujana was a specialist in constructing bombs and recruiting members for JI.
Zarkasih, alias Mbah (Grandfather), is said to be involved in helping key terrorist suspect Noordin M. Top and assisting in the 2003 JW Marriott Hotel bombing in Jakarta.
Ashludin also said that two other terrorist suspects, 16-year-old Isa Nashori and 19-year-old Nur Fauzan, would be freed under the supervision of the TPM.
""They were accused of hiding information about someone that the police were searching for. But we managed to set them free,"" he said.
He added that both suspects would be educated first before sending them back to their parents.
""But we will keep Isa Anshori because both of his parents are no longer alive,"" said Ashludin.
Ashludin also said another terrorist suspect Taufik Kondang, who was caught in Bekasi, was still being detained in Yogyakarta.
""The police have not finished the dossier,"" he said.
He added that Taufik would be transferred to Jakarta as soon as the police completed his case file. (08)
