Sohrabi wins Tour first stage

MOJOKERTO, East Java: Mehdi Sohrabi of Azad University, Iran, won the 64-kilometer first stage of the Tour de East Java on Wednesday, clocking 1 hour, 28 minutes and 10 seconds.
Takumi Beppu of Team Japan trailed in second place with 1:28:16 followed by Park Sung-bae of Seoul, South Korea, with 1:28:16.
""The win is the result of teamwork,"" Sohrabi said after receiving the US$500 cash prize and yellow jersey.
Organizers announced an official, Prasetyo, died of a suspected heart attack while on duty at the finish line. -- JP
