JAKARTA: The Jakarta City Center (JaCC) in Central Jakarta can now offer its visitors a virtual culinary excursion across the archipelago with a new Indonesian food court on its lower ground floor.
Owner Tantowi Yahya, also a famous television personality, said the idea was to introduce people to Indonesian culture via a total food experience.
""Sundanese, Padang or Javanese foods are the most famous for many Indonesian people,"" he said.
""But there are more delicious foods from other parts of the country,"" he said.
Operational director Ponco Sampurno said the food court would have live music four times a week, including country music performances from Tantowi Yahya.
The city center building sees a busy lunchtime trade and Ponco said the food court was already a success.
Travel agent employee Friska works close-by to the city building and said, ""I am interested in the discount that the food court offers"".
Friska said her lunch was average, but because her working area had no new place for lunch, the food court provided she and her friends with more options.
The restaurant said it would offer a 50 percent discount until July 8. -- JP
