51,000 motorists booked in June

JAKARTA: City police ticketed on average every day in June 1,700 undisciplined motorists traveling in the capital.

The police spokesman Comr. Ketut Untung Yoga Ana said the police gave tickets to 28,100 motorcycles, 23,208 cars and 12 three-wheel Bajaj last month.

""We seized 20,500 driving licenses, 29,785 vehicle document numbers and confiscated 1,925 vehicles,"" Ketut said Friday.

He said in the same month at least 84 people had died as a result of traffic accidents.

""There were 474 cases of traffic accidents in June, which caused financial losses of Rp897 million,"" he said. --JP
