JAKARTA: The Aceh Jaya regency of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam is wide open to domestic and foreign investment, which would help establish job opportunities for people there and accelerate economic growth, an official said.

""We'll provide various facilities to investors who wish to invest here,"" Aceh Jaya Deputy Regent Zamzami A. Rani said as quoted by Antara in Banda Aceh on Friday.

Zamzami said the regency has at least 45,000 hectares of land available for palm oil plantations, agriculture, fishery, tourism and animal husbandry.

Aceh Jaya, which was seriously damaged by the tsunami in December 2004, is trying to rejuvenate its economy with a key focus on rehabilitating infrastructure.-- JP
