I saw the abang none pageant for East Jakarta a few nights ago. As a person living in East Jakarta for more than 20 years, I was quite ashamed to learn that the ""nones"" (female winners) were not capable of speaking English. I know that by observing most of them the night before inauguration.
I, myself, am not an Indonesian. Yet I already feel Jakarta is my second hometown. It is quite shameful that the winners of the abang none for East Jakarta were not able to speak English in a good manner. How can they perform as tourism ambassadors to promote East Jakarta?
