JAKARTA: Deputy head of the Indonesian permanent representative to the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja recently chaired the 11th session of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on genetic resources in Geneva.
The meeting was held from July 3 to 12 in Geneva.
The objective of the meeting was to formulate international norms and regulations to protect intellectual rights in genetic resources, traditional knowledge and folklore.
During the session, Indonesia's delegation voiced the aspirations of the Asian-African nations, including decisions calling for legally binding regulations to protect genetic and traditional knowledge rights. -- JP
