JAKARTA: A pile-up involving six cars on the Tanjung Priok-Cawang turnpike brought traffic to a standstill Saturday, news portal Detik.com reported.
An officer on duty from turnpike operator Jasa Marga, Edi Hartono, said no one was injured in the accident, which is now being looked into by the East Jakarta police.
The accident took place at about 10:35 a.m. and involved a Honda Jazz, a Toyota Corolla, a Daihatsu Espass, a Toyota Avanza, a KIA Suma and Hyundai minibus.
All six of the cars were heavily damaged, Edi said.
Meanwhile, a truck loaded with gas cylinders overturned in front of the Indonesian Christian University campus, East Jakarta, after the driver lost control.
The accident caused bumper-to-bumper congestion. -- JP
