Nobel Laureate Yunus to visit RI this week

JAKARTA: Nobel Peace Prize winner Prof. Muhammad Yunus will visit Indonesia this week, the Bangladesh Embassy said in a press release.

""Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus is visiting Indonesia from Aug. 7-12, 2007,"" the release said.

Yunus is coming to Indonesia at the invitation of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

""It is going to be a hectic visit. Muhammad Yunus will be very busy during his stay in Indonesia,"" the embassy's minister, Tarik Ahsan, told The Jakarta Post on Thursday.

Yunus and his Grameen Bank jointly won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to improve economic and social development in Bangladesh. -- JP
