JAKARTA: A commission focused on the Munir case reported Wednesday lawyers Muhammad Assegaf and Wirawan Adnan to the Association of Indonesian Advocates (Peradi) for a possible breach of their code of ethics.

The Commission on Solidarity Act for Munir accused the lawyers of sending new evidence in the murder of rights activist Munir Said Thalib to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) before a case review started its first session Thursday.

Assegaf represents Garuda Indonesia pilot Pollycarpus Budihari Priyanto while Wirawan represents former president director Indra Setiawan.

The new evidence includes a testimony from a key witness, Raden Muhammad Fatma Anwar, alias Ucok, alias Aa, alias Empe, who claims to be a BIN member. -- JP
