JAKARTA: The Attorney General's Office (AGO) said Sunday that it was in discussions with the Indonesian Embassy in South Korea on the questioning of shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industry (HHI) over alleged graft in the sale of two tankers.

""We have talked with Ambassador Yacob Tobing. He said the embassy would help facilitate the questioning,"" the AGO's director of special crimes investigation, M. Salim, told the detik.com news portal.

The AGO will send a team of prosecutors to question representatives of the Korean company.

In addition to HHI, the AGO has also served notice on Frontline Shipping Ltd. in Bermuda, financial consultant Goldman Sachs in the U.S. and Frontline's intermediary, Equinox Sailing. Equinox and Goldman Sachs have responded and will send representatives for questioning.

The sale of the two tankers is alleged to have cost taxpayers some US$50 million in 2004. -- JP
