JAKARTA: Head of the Papua Provincial Prosecutors' Office Lorens Serworwora and his six subordinates dismissed from their posts for insubordination have been given 14 days to defend themselves, Junior Attorney General for Internal Supervision M.S. Rahardjo said Tuesday.
""Their defense statements, in written formats, should be sent within 14 days to the Attorney General's Office (AGO),"" Rahardjo told detik.com.
""A leadership meeting of the AGO will examine their defenses and later on make final decisions.""
Lorens and six prosecutors from the Papua Provincial Prosecutors Office were recently dismissed from their posts after they were found ignoring guidelines set by the AGO.
The guidelines covered charges made against a local businessman implicated in an illegal fishing case. -- JP
