Martial artists set for world contest

DENPASAR: Three top martial artists from Bali will take part in the International Martial Arts Competition in Malaysia from Sept. 18. through Sept. 21.

The three athletes -- Gede Suwiwa, Kadek Wulandari and Komang Sutryawati -- have undergone training at the national training camp at Taman Mini Indonesia prior to the competition.

Nengah Sukama, the head of Bali Martial Arts Association, said he was optimistic the young athletes would be able compete with the world-class martial artists at the competition. -- JP
