One injured in factory explosion

JAKARTA: An explosion occurred at a plastics factory Monday on Jl. Raya Bogor, Depok, West Java, injuring one worker.

An officer from the Depok Police, who refused to be named, said the explosion was caused by chemical substances in the factory.

""It was hard to extinguish the fire due to the substances involved,"" he said as quoted by Detik.com news portal.

The Depok Fire Brigade deployed 12 fire engines to extinguish the blaze.

It took about two hours to finally douse the flames.

The injured worker was taken to a hospital located near the factory. --JP
