JAKARTA: The Justice and Human Rights Ministry launched Tuesday a media center to provide the public with the latest information on law and human rights.

""In line with the public information bill that requires every institution and state official at every level to fulfill the public's needs for information, the center is expected to be able to present the latest information on justice and human rights, such as about the Committee for Witness and Victim Protection,"" the Justice and Human Rights Minister, Andi Mattalatta, said.

""The information center, funded by the United Nations Development Program, will also allow people to keep up to date with the progress of bills that are being deliberated in the House of Representatives,"" Andi added.

He added that it was one of the state's jobs to facilitate public knowledge about the legislative process, and this center was expected to be able to increase the public's awareness of the law.-- JP
