JAKARTA: The Central Jakarta administration is continuing to crack down on unregistered street vendors to uphold the public order bylaw.
""We will continue evicting street vendors so Central Jakarta is kept orderly,"" municipality secretary Bambang Sugiono said, as quoted by Antara on Tuesday.
He said public order officers would monitor several areas popular with street vendors, including Jl. Kebon Jati, Jl. KH Mansyur and the Senayan, Senen and Pasar Baru commercial districts.
Last week public order officers dismantled 299 kiosks at the Senen market and moved them to an adjacent market building formerly occupied by retailers Ramayana and Matahari. -- JP
