Around Asia in Less Than an Hour

Ari Seputra invites us on a tour of Asia. No visa required.

Another Indonesian designer unfurled his collection toward the end of the year. Ari Seputra is not a newcomer in local fashion. He has worked at the House of Prajudi, studied up on his craft at ESMOD in Jakarta and also taught pattern making (it led to a scholarship to study in France).

Despite his considerable experience in honing his skills, this was only his second collection after his debut last year. The father of two still had something to prove.

The socialite set was out in force for the show, titled Enchanting Mosaic, with inspiration derived from the different corners of Asia, from Indonesia to Korea and everything in between. The result was a very practical ready to wear collection, using modern materials with batik accents.

At the end of the hour-long show, no one’s pocketbook was any lighter after going around the continent. There was no need to pay up for airfare, departure tax, visa and hotels; Ari has done that all for you here in Jakarta.
