Unair Information System (DSI) development head Imam Siswanto said that Unair was one of 13 universities in Indonesia that were supporting Open Source.
According to Imam, Unair had a need to inform its students about Open Source because many did not fully understand the concept.
"Adopting Open Source does not mean we can get any software for free. But we can modify it to fit our needs," said Imam.
As an institution, he said, Unair was challenged to make the Open Source movement a success. -- JP
