JAKARTA: University of Indonesia (UI) has equipped the university's Ukhuwah Islamiyah Mosque with a new online facility.
Called Cyber Mosque, the new facility was launched by UI rector Gumilar R. Somantri at a ceremony on Jan. 25.
It is hoped that the new Cyber Mosque will enable students to enjoy their visits to the mosque further. With the launch of the Cyber Mosque, all religious texts the mosque recites every Friday will be available on the mosque's website: www.mesjidui.ui.edu.
Students can also learn to read the Koran and select literature from its digital library.
The website will also provide video streaming services for preaching sessions held at the mosque. -- JP
