Police make raids in South Jakarta

JAKARTA: Officers from the South Jakarta Police precinct arrested 30 men during a series of raids in the area, including Melawai and Blok M.

The head of the precinct's operational division, Adj. Sr. Comr. Elbin Darwin, told Detik news portal the raids were carried out in expectation of anticipated crime in the area.

Police also confiscated stockpiles of illegal liquor and other alcoholic drinks during the raid.

Police conduct regular raids on suspected criminals in the city. --JP
