UI to hold book summarizing contest

JAKARTA: The University of Indonesia (UI) Library is inviting students and lecturers on campus to take part in a book summarizing contest.

The contest requires participants to summarize a book by Mortimer J. Adler and Charles van Doren, titled How to Read a Book, a copy of which can be obtained from the library for Rp 60,000.

Participants should send a summary of at least 35 pages (size A4) with sentence spacing of 1.5 lines. The summary should be submitted to the library secretariat at Gedung A, Depok, no later than March 10.

Eight finalists will be shortlisted, from which three winners will be selected. First prize consists of a Rp 1.5 million cash prize and a box of books. -- JP
