SMS: Java Jazz Festival

I'm a big fans of Java Jazz. Enjoyed it. I am just very disappointed with the rubbish everywhere? Why didn't the event organizer prepare lots of proper containers? I took lots of pictures of the rubbish though.

Jakarta is a great cultural center but it is difficult to navigate. Needs better street signs for visitors. JJF is terrific. Better every year and this is my fourth year in a row!

I love Java Jazz! For this year, I'm accompanying my dad, because he likes The Manhattan Transfer, and we really enjoyed the show. It's good that Jakarta has this kind of event.

I think the jazz festival is good for Indonesia although it's not Indonesian culture or Indonesian music, because jazz is one of the best music genres and easy to listen to, and also it's not a bad foreign culture, so we have to support the jazz festival. On the other hand, we have to show others that our country is a good country.

Really admire that Jakarta can organize such a big international event like the Java Jazz Festival that can attract jazz musicians from many countries to play their jazz here.

I like jazz even though I know little about it. I like Glenn, Tompi and Incognito. We should have more and more cultural events like the Java Jazz festival, not only in Jakarta but also in several other cities as well.

We can do more to promote our country, culture, tradition, so the world knows that Indonesia is known not only for its corruption, deforestation, disasters, but also has a lot of great musicians, artists, food and so on. Please do something that makes us proud of being Indonesian.

In creating a dynamic situation and presenting something new, the organizer should awake participants to arranging local songs and mixing local music instruments from the country without leaving the jazz rhythm.

If there is no change at the next festival, it may make the fans/spectators bored.

Java Jazz is an excellent program not only for locals but also for foreigners. It is an educating entertainment for the Indonesian families. It is also an indirect information for the people abroad that Indonesia is safe to visit.

As for the event itself, the organizer should give more attention to the traffic entering the lot and the parking system next time. I hope Indonesia will host more grand cultural events like Java Jazz.

JJF has again proven that Indonesia is capable in organizing a major international musical event. There should be more such events for people of all nationalities to enjoy and share common interest in music.

It is really time to put Indonesia with its more than 200 million people on the map of great concerts. It may also be a way of attracting foreign tourists to come to Indonesia.

Jakarta is the "center" of Indonesia. As the center, Jakarta must be able to represent Indonesian culture in any form. From the name "Java Jazz Festival", from a particular point of view, I think the music festival should be providing "Java" cultural entertainment too.

So why don't we do it more often? Perhaps for the next Java Jazz Festival, they should consider more Javanese cultural involvement.

The JJF is really brilliant idea. The artists vary from year to year. A bunch of thanks to Gonta. With the touch of business, he has made it an international festival, not only attracting international artists but also an international audience.

Those artists are audiences see and listen to our traditional artists too. If we can maintain the success of this program or improve it, our Indonesian visit program won't be for this year only, but for every year. Bravo to JJF.
