I read an article titled "Electricity users in the dark about new billing system". Let me tell state-owned electricity company PLN that we are constantly in the dark. Second, what has the media explained about the new billing system? How do I know whether it is excessive or not?

It seems to be just another poorly planned scheme by another totally incompetent government institution.

Tourism business -- March 11, p. 13

For someone from a research company, the writer shows very little understanding; "Hampered by its Bali-centric philosophy".

Indonesia is hampered by its corruption, anti-Western sentiment (although who can blame them at times), injustice and particularly human rights abuses.

Education and budget March 8, p. 7

Education is not only a matter of money, but the will to change your mind-set.

Why do the most honored scientists come from the Western world? It's not only a lack of education in countries like Indonesia are suffering from. It's also their people's mind-set.

Based on traditions, people never learned to appreciate criticism and curiosity as valuable things. These things, being the actual motor of intellectual success, are missing and traditionally no part of education here.

Appreciating criticism and curiosity is the most important things that need to be developed before school starts and need to be maintained with the educational process at school and universities.

This lack of criticism and curiosity is what makes it difficult to compare countries like Finland with Indonesia. MARTIN E. POETSCHIK Depok, West Java

It is a great feature. I need some information on Italian food culture because I am in the process of making a book of world food history.

Transportation accident

I like visiting Indonesia as a tourist. The first time I came to Indonesia was in 2006. I used the busway and found it very convenient. The train to Bandung is also excellent.

But I was shocked and disappointed when I was in Jakarta on my latest holiday in January because other vehicles were allowed to use busway lanes. It is regrettable, I thought. So I warmly endorse the reintroduction of the busway lane only for the buses.

I do sympathize with the motorists, of course. Jakarta, however, needs a comprehensive solution for its transportation problems, as well as other cities. But continuing the busway development is my advice.
