Classical music from masters like Bach, Handel and Mozart is easily recognizable, but not many people know about classical music from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The Batavia Madrigal Singers, conducted by Avip Priatna, will enlighten music lovers through the choir's performance Sunday March 16 at the Goethe Haus in Central Jakarta.
Titled "The Spiritual Journal", the concert will present the works of composers from the 20th and 21st centuries, including "Three Motets" by Pierre Villette, "Exultate Deo" by Vystautas Miskinis, "Stabat Mater" by Gy*rgy Orb*n and "Anima Christi" and "Mass" by Ryan Cayabyab.
The Batavia Madrigal Singers, known as one of the country's best choirs, promises to deliver to the audience a very different experience.
Avip and the choir, which comprises talented singers from different backgrounds, have won several choir competitions, both locally and abroad, and have performed in many concerts. -- Rilwan Hamzah
