Chris John to defend WBA title next month

The World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight champion Chris John of Indonesia will defend his title next month against either Ghana's Osumanu Akaba or Jackson Asiku of Australia in Perth, Antara reported Thursday.Choki Napitupulu of Chris John Management said the two boxers were the available candidates to take on Chris John.
Currently, Akaba is ranked 14th in the WBA, while Asiku, who repeatedly became Chris' sparring partner, is 13th.
The bout is scheduled for April 28. (***)
