City sees smooth traffic over holiday

ADPARA>JAKARTA: During the long weekend the city saw a decrease in traffic, the city police's traffic management center reported Friday.

It also reported two accidents from Thursday to Friday evening.

Early Friday morning, a Metromini minibus collided with a motorcycle across from the immigration office at Jl. Mampang Prapatan in South Jakarta.

Motorcycle driver Wasim was taken to a hospital in Buncit Raya, while the bus driver was taken to the Pancoran Police station.

Late in the afternoon, a light truck loaded with fish rolled over on the city toll road in Pondok Gede, East Jakarta.

The vehicle blocked two lanes of the highway, causing a two-kilometer-long traffic jam. There were no injuries reported.-- JP
