Online porn law

It's good to know that the government has passed a law prohibiting online porn. The forfeit is too much, but it does not matter and it helps the government to makes people scared to use online porn.

One thing that makes me a little bit disappointed is that the ministry in charge of the law blocked its website www.depkominfo.com.

I do not know the reason, but it's really embarrassing. It just like the ministry is afraid of people terrorizing the site. The ministry is afraid in taking a decision, whether they did right or not. But actually the case is right.

I can only hope that the ministry not block its website, because people (including me) get a positive impact from that site.

Tax payment mobile service

It was some time last year at a parking lot in front of Pondok Indah Grand Mosque, close to Pondok Indah mall Jakarta. A mobile unit was set up ready to receive vehicle tax payments and driving license renewals.

The police announced the service over a PA system and people come to check what was happening. Very few people used the service, because to renew licenses or pay tax, one needed to come prepared with money and documents.

When I asked the officer in charge whether they would be there the following day, he said yes, and would be providing the service for three days.

So I came back the next day with money and all the documents. The mobile unit was not there. They did not show up. I waited until 10 o'clock.

I checked with the guy standing at the location. He explained that due to computer problem the mobile unit was moved to Kalibata, in front of the Heroes Cemetery.

Through heavy traffic I reached Kalibata, but again I did not find the mobile unit. My goodness! Playing hide-and-seek?

Stop 'Crayon Shincan' TV show

I would like to comment on the TV cartoon Crayon Shincan, which is being aired by RCTI, from 8:30 to 9 a.m. every Sunday.

This show has a bad impact on our children. By watching the show, children may think that making their parents angry is acceptable.

I am sure that many viewers, especially parents, are fed up and give bad comments to this cartoon. RCTI has to stop the cartoon broadcast. It should not worry about ratings as long as it is able to maintain the good quality of its programs.

Global warming and sovereignty -- March 31, p. 6

Let's join hands and stop this global warming at once, before it's too late for us. Give our children a chance to see what God has created.

I agree with Andi's statement about global warming. Global warming is the most dangerous problem we face. It could destroy the earth. We must find a solution.

I quote from Andi's writing, "However, the small things we can do will still have an impact".

This is a good statement. Global warming is a world problem, so it must be solved by everyone. We should move away from everything which can increase global warming, even little things. Because little things multiply to bigger things when large numbers of people do them. So, start doing the little things to save life on earth from now on.
