YOGYAKARTA: Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and Lampung University (Unila) have renewed their existing cooperation with an agreement on education, research and community service.
UGM rector Sudjarwadi and his counterpart from Unila, Sugeng Haryanto, signed the agreement on April 3at the Yogyakarta university. The schools of Economics from the two universities have also agreed to cooperate in developing their programs. Under the agreement, UGM will provide assistance to Unila to help them to develop by sending its lecturers to the South Sumatran university. UGM will also help Unila in improving their computer lab. UGM's Sudjarwadi said that the cooperation is the university's commitment to become a partner to regional institutes, through which it will also benefit by learning about educational and other issues in the regions. - JP
