JAKARTA: The city administration says it expects to finish road repairs next month.
"Rain hampered road repairs we initially expected to complete this month," public works agency deputy head Budi Widiantoro said as quoted by Tempointeraktif.com.
"We will work overtime (to meet the deadline)."
According to Budi, work has been completed on 70 percent of 120 identified stretches of damaged road across the city.
The budget for the work, allocated by City Council, is Rp 37 billion.
Potholes created during the wet season contributed to numerous accidents in February and March, in which dozens of motorists were killed, sparking public anger over poor road maintenance. -- JP
