TIMIKA, Papua: The supervisory committee of the Mimika General Elections Commission (KPUD) on Monday accused two civil servants of being involved in unlawful campaigns in the regency election.
The supervisory committee reported to the local police and administration that two civil servants allegedly carried out illegal public campaigns for candidates in the election.
The committee received the reports from the public and was still gathering statements from witnesses.
Committee member Maria F. Kotorok confirmed the report with media at the Mimika legislature on Monday.
"We are still gathering facts and taking statements from witnesses. We will report the case to the regent to take stern actions if they are found to be in the wrong," she said. -- JP
