JAKARTA: The director of the box office hit Ayat-Ayat Cinta (Verses of Love), Hanung Bramantyo, is set to make another religious film -- this time with a touch of comedy.

"It's a religious film mixed with some comedy," Hanung was quoted as saying by Antara news agency Wednesday during a gathering that revealed his plans for the upcoming flick Doa yang Mengancam (The Threatening Prayer).

His new film, which will be produced by SineMart Pictures, will talk about God among ordinary people.

"I want to show that God exists everywhere. Not just among high class people, as in Ayat-Ayat Cinta, but also among people living in slum areas," said Hanung, who received the Citra award for best director in 2007 for his teen movie Brownies.

He said Doa yang Mengancam was an adaptation from the short story of the same title written by Jujur Prananto in Kompas daily in 2001. -- JP
