Inu Kencana, a controversial lecturer at the State Administration Institute, announced Saturday that he would run for president in the 2009 election.
Known as a lecturer who spoke up against his campus' violent orientation program, Inu hoped he could resolve various problems in the country including violence in his institution.
"I want law is upheld. However, it needs power to ensure law enforcement in this country. That's why I want to be the president of this country," he said in the launching ceremony of his book titled "Inu Kencana for President."
He admitted he did not have much money and had yet to form a political party to support his presidential bid. (***)
