Senayan, GMIS to meet in cricket finals

JAKARTA: Senayan Cricket Club will meet defending champions Gandhi Memorial International School in the finals of the Jakarta Cricket Association League tournament at the Ceylon Cricket Ground in Cibubur, East Jakarta, on Sunday.

Senayan earned its spot in the final after thrashing India XI by 101 runs in the semifinals.

Gandhi sailed into the finals after beating Indorama Cricket Club with two wickets to spare.

The final match will be followed by the association's annual dinner. During the gala, the association will present awards to those who have helped promote the sport in the country.

The association will hold an auction during the ceremony to raise funds for junior cricket development.

"Former New Zealand captain Ken Rutherford and ESPN Star Sports commentator Alan Wilkins will be the guest speakers for the evening," the association said.
