JAKARTA: Jakarta Police confiscated 90,000 liters of various kinds of fuel worth hundreds of millions of rupiahs from a Tangerang warehouse Thursday.

The fuel was allegedly distributed illegally around industrial areas in Tangerang and Jakarta.

The police seized the illegal fuel from a 1,000-square-meter warehouse on Jl. Raya Perancis, Kosambi district, Tangerang, on Thursday.

The police found 50,000 liters of used machine oil, 32,000 liters of distilled oil, 5,000 liters of crude oil and 32 drums containing sawdust. They also found three units of tank trucks with a capacity of 16 tons and five units of mixing machines.

Head of the natural resource unit at the city police Adj. Sr. Comr. Bahagia Dachi said, as quoted by Tempointeraktif.com, the company owner was suspected of producing and distributing the fuel to industries. He said the company did not hold the necessary permit from state-owned oil company Pertamina. -- JP
