I congratulate the Indonesian women's Uber Cup team, which has brought Indonesia a great honor. Although these matches still do not guarantee Indonesia will win the Uber Cup, they at least give hope and spirit for another Indonesia team.

Indonesia has something to be proud of. I wish Indonesia will be the winner of the Uber Cup.

Leading to next 'digital decade' May 10, p. 1

We should start with affordable and reliable Internet connections for the public and homes. Also, we can change our mind-set, note what others do and browse a wealth of information before taking action.

For example, it would be cheaper and save our country's petrol if we could buy airline tickets online, etc. We could also minimize "the middle man" in many aspect of our business. I believe government could do it as owner of state telecommunications and electricity firms. That's what central government are for.

Myanmar relief efforts May 10, p. 3

Indonesia along with China blocked a UN Security Council resolution Thursday that would have pressured Myanmar to allow in all humanitarian aid and let rescue workers find and help survivors.

Has the Indonesian government learned nothing from the natural disasters here? Obviously not. Human Rights Watch condemned Indonesia for blocking the resolution.

Once again, the Indonesian government drops the ball and embarrasses itself internationally.

Ahmadiyah urged MUI to scrap edicts May 9, p. 2

Former justice minister Yusril Ihza Mahendra needs to study current political situation of Pakistan and the impact of the 1973 constitutional amendment on the day-to-day life of Ahmadis.

Banning Ahmadis did not help anyone and failed to shield them from attacks, abuses and murders. The legislation punctured a hole in the thin fabric of society and with the passage of time the gap became so wide that all ill-will got shelter here under the guise of Islam.

Now no one is safe. Pakistan is now being denied hosting even minor sports events as foreign teams are afraid to come to Pakistan for fear of their lives. Bomb blasts, suicide attacks, arms/drug trading, kidnapping, robberies; everything is being done to support the religion in tribal regions.

Please. Think sensibly for a moment. Are you ready to take all this? Instead of taking Pakistan as an example, try to learn some lessons from the current state. One wrong step and off you go. Don't put your future generations at risk and at the mercy of fanatics.
