Pregnant woman pulled to safety after 50 hours in China earthquake rubble

Chinese rescue workers have pulled a 34-year-old woman who is eight months pregnnt to safety after she spent 50 hours under earthquake rubble.

Zhang Xiaoyan was trapped following the massive earthquake that hit Sichuan province Monday.

The official death toll in the quake was about 12,000, but that was expected to rise sharply as more bodies are pulled from the rubble.(**)
