Indonesia's national soccer team fell to Bayern 5-1 at Bung Karno Stadium in Senayan, Central Jakarta.
Playing in front of some 65,000 fans, Bayern took charge in the first half. Unmarked Bayern central defender Breno Borges scored the first goal for the visiting side with a header in the 20th minute fed by a free kick by Jose Ernesto Sosa from the left flank of the home team defense.
Three minutes later, German striker Jan Schlaudraff, who received a side pass from teammate Toni Kross, managed to beat Indonesia's No. 1 goalie Yandri Pitoy in a one-on-one duel inside the penalty area to extend the visiting team's lead to 2-0.
In the 27th minute, Indonesia's skipper Bambang Pamungkas slipped through an offside trap to face German goalkeeper Oliver Kahn. The chance was spoiled, however, by the former German national team goalie, who successfully cleared the shot.
The champions of the German premier league Bundesliga added their third goal in the 32nd minute with Schlaudraff slotting his second of the evening into the Indonesian net amid scrappy defense by the host team, thanks to a free kick from Kross.
Indonesia's players, led by right forward Ellie Aiboy, did make several attempts to penetrate the German side but to no avail due to a glaring lack of teamwork.
In the second half, Bayern slowed its tempo and allowed the Indonesian side to use the momentum to narrow the gap with Bambang's header from a lobbed cross pass by Ellie falling out of the reach of substitute goalie Michael Rensing.
Bayern struck back during the stoppage time to score two more goals, with Schlaudraff completing his hat trick and Kroos adding the final. (ewd)
